Leadership Advancement Mentorship Program

LAMP's mission is to facilitate access to mentor-mentee relationships in the Muslim community, in addition to fostering career-advancing leadership skills within those members.

Why Mentoring? Mentoring is a relationship that is developed to help coach, motivate, and train leadership and career skills in a specific field of interest. Mentoring is both rewarding, and helps impact the career choices and development of a young professional. A LAMP mentor is one who is willing to contribute time, energy, and resources to mentee(s) in helping to support their growth and launch into the professional working world.

Our organization is broken down into spheres. A Sphere is a workspace to network with similar careers and fields of studies within LAMP. Our six Spheres are Information Technology, Business, Liberal Arts, Engineering, Healthcare & Science and Research.

Our vision is to empower the Muslim individual in order to provide a lasting impact on society and the industries we serve. Together we can strengthen our communities through knowledge sharing and career development. We at LAMP believe in these elements as the foundations of empowerment. The Prophet (saw) said: "Acquire knowledge and impart it to the people." - Al-Tirmidhi.

Creating Relationships

Each mentee is paired with a mentor to receive guidance. Mentors will assist mentees throughout their academic and professional careers.

Setting Target Goals

Mentors will assist mentees in setting target goals and effectively utilizing their time and resources. Having both short-term and long-term goals are critical elements comprising a strategic plan.

Career Preparation

From resume building to career workshops to mock interviews, we help the mentee to develop a sense of professionalism that they can then apply in the real world.
